When you book into a hotel room, you expect to be able to take a moment to relax without being disturbed. Whether you're spending the night away from home for a business trip, or you're on holiday and taking in the sights of a new city, hotels are there to make sure you can get a good night's sleep, even when you're not near your own bed.
While some hotels are fitted with fancy amenities like mini bars, the most important part of any room is the bed. You want a comfortable place to rest your head, especially if you're exhausted from a day of travelling or sightseeing. What you don't expect to find is something crawling around in the sheets.
That's the unsettling experience one man on Instagramhad when he lay down on his hotel bed for the night, and immediately jumped back out because he was convinced he "heard something" in the sheets.

Parker Pannell shared a video of himself pulling back the sheets as he tried to find the source of the noise, but after removing the duvet and the mattress cover, he couldn't find any creepy crawlies or unwanted items in his bed.
However, he could still hear the noise of something crawling in his bed, so he looked at the bottom of the bedframe - and what he saw made his blood run cold.
Sitting in between his mattress and the wooden frame that encased his bed was a large crab.
Parker, who did not disclose what hotel he was staying in, tried to pick up the sea creature that had somehow found its way into his hotel room, but the crustacean started running along the edge of his bed, trapping itself in the corner before coming to a stop.
The man picked up a towel to protect his hands as he tried again to grab the creature, as he could be heard telling the other people in the room with him to "call security" for the hotel.
Parker successfully picked up the crab, and the video ended with him gently pulling the animal out of the bed and showing it off to the camera.
It's not known what Parker did with the crab, but he confirmed in the comments that he was staying at a hotel on the beach, so it's likely he safely returned the crustacean to the water.
Commenters were equally baffled by the man's unwanted hotel guest, although many also poked fun at Parker for requesting his friends call security, as they pointed out, "it's a crab, not a murderer".
One person said: "NOPE! I'd be OUT the door and DOWN the hall the moment I saw that."
Another added: "Could be worse. Could be bed bugs."
A third wrote: "New fear unlocked."
